"The Manor House of Roeberry", which is known locally as The Castle, was built in 1861 as the centrepiece of the Roeberry estate. It is one of Orkney’s finest and most prominent houses. Set in 4 acres of high walled "secret gardens", overlooking the sea on three sides, it offers its visitors breathtaking views to the horizon, and hidden places sheltered not only by majestic stone walls but by our own enchanted woods. Three beaches as well as open South Ronaldsay scenery are within walking minutes away from our doorstep, and only the passing of the Pentland Ferry shows that hours have passed... The picturesque fishing village St. Margaret’s Hope nearby offers little shops, a post office, local pubs and the well-known award winning restaurant "The Creel", as well as a golf club, an art gallery and a gym. The Pentland Ferry connecting Orkney with the Scottish mainland sails into the Hope three times a day. Visitors arriving here are only a three minute drive away from Roeberry House. Travel time from Kirkwall Airport is no more than 20 minutes by car. Congestion is unlikely... At Roeberry we offer you family hosted B&B guest accommodation of the highest standard. We speak German, French, Spanish, Russian and Italian within our family and are happy to help you organise your visit to the islands and are delighted to cater for any individual requirements. Please note that we operate a "no-smoking" policy within the house for the comfort of our family and all guests.
